Abula (Ewedu & Gbegiri) — Nigerian soup recipe

Abula is the soul of Yoruba cuisine: a beautiful pairing of ewedu (jute leaf soup), gbegiri (creamy beans soup) and pepper stew, ladled together over hot amala. Each element is cooked separately, then combined at serving so every spoonful gives you the tang of ewedu, the mellow richness of gbegiri and the fiery depth of stew. It's the definitive Ibadan and South-West buka experience.
